German Traffic Association: studies on traffic behavior

For many years, Quotas has been conducting the yearly “railway test” in Germany on behalf of German Traffic Association (VCD). At large, the studies contribute to improve the quality of service of public transport and to make the latter more attractive to travelers. Every year, the “railway test” has another focus. Past topics include:

• “Review of the quality of rail travel consulting”
• “Survey on the mobility needs of rail travelers and non-rail travelers”
• “Identification of access barriers to public transport”
• “Analysis of rail travels with regard to quality of service”
• Price comparison between rail and air travel in Germany and cities in other European countries

In the most recent “railway test” in 2014/15, Quotas compared traveling by air, train and bus with regard to specific characteristics. The final report is available on the project’s web site.
