Coronavirus / Covid-19 & your participation in the postal measurement – FAQ

The issues and impacts the Corona virus has caused in very many countries world wide cannot be missed. The Postal Sector might be affected in some countries as well. Below you can find a couple of answers to frequently asked questions regarding the current situation.

My country’s government ordered the public to stay at home – what shall I do with the test items to be posted and/or the transponders to be returned?

For the moment, please just keep those items and try to send them once the situation returns back to normal. The same applies to the active and dual transponders – please return those as soon as the situation allows you to do so.

I am a business participant posting mail from my company, but currently we have been ordered to work from home – what shall I do with the items?

For the moment, please just keep those items and try to send them once the situation returns back to normal and you will be able to return to your office.

I am receiving test items from countries declared as conflict areas – what are the risks for me?

From experience with other coronaviruses (i.e. SARS), it is known that these types of viruses do not survive long on objects, such as letters or parcels. In general, you should not be at risk of contracting the new virus. (See World Health Organization: ‘Is it safe to receive a package from any area where COVID-19 has been reported?’  https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/q-a-coronaviruses).

Given the current situation, I would like to cancel my participation – how do I let you know?

We absolutely do understand that your participation might be too much for you at the moment. We would very much appreciate it, though, if you will decide to pause your participation instead of ending it. In this case, we will exclude you from the measurement until the situation returns back to normal. Please just drop us an email and we will take care of it.
